SIMON GERADA, PROGRAM MANAGER
Simon Gerada is the founder of Health, Wellness and Table Tennis (HWATT). HWATT is the brainchild of Simon who has a proven, well documented track record. Simon is no stranger to the ups & downs of being a competitive world class table tennis player. Simon is a Australian Olympian, Australian Singles Champion and 9 time Victorian singles champion.
Simonīs roles with-in HWATT include the general day-to-day on court program management; Simon wishes to build an international standard squad in the long term and to lead the way in training and its environment in the short term. Simon is also the head of partnership building and strategic planning for HWATT.
JOE GERADA, Head Coach
Joe Gerada has been in the training industry for more than 30 years, Joe's first National Champion was none other than Simon Gerada and has produced more than 10 national champions and world class players including Simon Gerada and Melissa Tapper. Joeīs roles with-in HWATT include the Head coaching position, Joe manages the finer points of the elite players game; Joe also heads up the on table tournament advisory role where players fast track their development through a unique blend of on-court training development and the on-court HWATT tournament pressure coaching. Joe also serves as a representative on the Table Tennis Victoria board of management.
MELISSA TAPPER, PLAYER
When Melissa Tapper first picked up a table tennis bat in the small Victorian town of Hamilton, no one could have predicted the great heights she would quickly rise to. However, it did not take long for the table tennis community to realise she was an outstanding talent. Melissaīs primary focus includes playing professional Table Tennis and has won major events including the Hungarian and Italian Open AWD Class 10 championships. Melissaīs role with-in HWATT include pathway development for women with-in sport and Table Tennis, Melissa also serves as an ambassador of Table Tennis and HWATT and continues to train and coach aspiring young Table Tennis players with-in the school sector.
DAVID POWELL, Player/Trainer
An Australian youth Champion, a great role model and an enthusiastic approach when working with the HWATT squad. David's presents is always felt in the hall when training and when playing in the major events around the world. David is an Australian Olympic shadow squad member and is currently playing professionally with Australian and Europe.
Davidīs role with-in HWATT includes the Assistant coaching role where David spend many hours per week working with Simon and Joe in the development side of HWATT membership program training regime.
PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM, Simon Gerada/Justin Han/Danny Semmler/Ravi Ganapathy/Melissa Tapper
The HWATT Premier League team is the premier team in the country, with the experience of Gerada, the class of Tapper and the grit of Powell this team continues to produce the medals. But itīs the young guns coming through the ranks that make this team a champion team.
Its players like Dillon Cathcart, Australian Junior Champion or Ivan Sulfaro a national team member and bronze medallist on the World Junior circuit and then the best players of every age category working together for the same objective that gives this team the accolade of being the premier team in the country.
